Our purpose is to work toward the beautification of Cuchara Valley and improve the quality of life for its residents.
Cuchara Hermosa originated when nine ladies met in 1964, at the home of Margaret Bradley, and discussed how to help beautify the valley. Cuchara Hermosa became a non-profit social organization in 1965. Dues were $2.00 a year. Throughout the years, Hermosa has donated money to many worthwhile projects and organizations, including Quick Response Team, La Veta Library, Cuchara's children's playground and tennis courts, La Veta School, Celtic Festival, La Veta Fire Dept. Auxiliary, La Veta beautification, Cuchara Chapel's Scholarship program, SPACe Children's Art Workshop, as well as maintaining the beauty of our roads and parkways. Fundraisers currently include the plant sale in June, Cuchara Valley Directory, calendars and notecards.
